Shot a man for belonging to the Armed Forces: the commander of the battalion of the Russian army was informed of the suspicion

In March 2022, the soldiers of the 74th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation with a place of permanent deployment in the Kemerovo region temporarily occupied a village in Chernihiv region, where they conducted searches with local to detect Ukrainian servicemen. For violation of the laws and customs of war, they face up to 12 years imprisonment.

Law enforcement officers continue to identify Russian servicemen who, during the occupation of settlements, robbed homes, tortured and abused local residents. In the course of documenting such crimes and analyzing the mass of information, the operatives of the Strategic Investigation Department together with the SBU investigators in the Chernihiv region established the data of the 30-year-old commander of a battalion of the Russian army and collected evidence of his involvement in the murder of the Ukrainian serviceman.

The village of Lukashivka in the north of the country was occupied almost immediately after the full-scale invasion. The military of the Russian Federation received information that in one of the households there is a man who served in the Armed Forces. He and three other civilians were kidnapped and bullied in a garage where the occupiers had set up a torture chamber.

The combatant personally tried to obtain from the Ukrainian military intelligence about the Defense Forces on the territory of Chernihiv region, using inhuman torture against him. In the end, the commander of the enemy battalion shot the man.

On the basis of the evidence collected during the investigation, law enforcement officers informed the representative of the occupation forces about the suspicion under Part 1, Part 2 of Art. 438 (Violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
