Shot by Russia: Evgeniya Dudka fought for his life 11 months after a missile strike by the Russians on the site where the State Emergency Service was working
On the Day of the Rescuer, which is celebrated in Ukraine on September 17 and thanks emergency workers for the lives saved, we remember with sadness the death of Evgeny Dudka, who was killed by the Russian invaders.
Evgenia Dudka is the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region. Her life was destroyed by Russia on April 10, 2022. Then an enemy missile struck a critical infrastructure facility in the city of Dnipro, to which rescuers immediately went. Zhenya was with her colleagues, because she understood that she had to record the next crime of the Russian army.
Within a few hours, however, the Russians launched a second missile strike on the spot where the contingents were liquidating the effects of the previous “arrival”. Of all, Eugene suffered the most, debris flew under her body armor.
For the next 11 months, Zhenyu and her family waited for real survival tests. The German Charité clinic wanted to save the girl, where she was evacuated.
“As a medic, I saw that the wound was severe in the abdomen. She was so heavy and at the same time so strong, restrained,” recalls mother Galina Grigorievna.
Recovery and healing took a long time, exhausting Zhenya, but she knew that she had to hold on for her life. Together with the wounded man, Igor was always in love, who even at a distance supported Zhenya.
“We were introduced by our service in the State Emergency Service. Together we stayed very little before the tragedy - six months,” says Igor Getalo.
The man encouraged the girl, handed gifts from colleagues, and one day came to the hospital with a wedding ring. Their wedding took place in the chamber. After a long time in Germany, Evgenia Dudka's condition began to deteriorate, she persuaded her beloved by all means to take her to Ukraine.
“It seems that she felt something bad, so she asked to be taken from Berlin, because she wanted to die in her homeland,” says mother Galina Grigorievna.
The road was dangerous for Eugenia, but she endured it too. Upon arrival in Ukraine, she immediately went to her colleagues in the part of the State Emergency Service in Dnipro, because she was very sad about her work and worried that she was not together with everyone.
In March 2023, after another operation, which was already taking place in the capital, Zhenya was gone. The brave and cheerful girl fought for her life for 11 months, but her heart could not stand it.
