Today, February 27, the exhibition of military photographer, Lieutenant of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Anatsky, started at the metro station “Zoloti Vorota”, who on January 18, 2023, together with the leadership and colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs tragically died in a plane crash of the State Emergency Service helicopter in Brovary.

The exhibition “Interrupted Flight” presents 30 photographs of Mykola Anatsky, which he took on business trips with Denis Monastyrsky, in particular during the war in Kramatorsk, Vinnitsa, Kremenchug, Kharkiv, Bakhmut, etc. The exhibition of photos makes it possible to understand and feel what Denis Monastyrsky and his team managed to do in the year of the war.

“In each of these photos, despite the fact that pain, destruction and very heavy emotions are shown here, in each of them there is good, Knee light. He was always behind the scenes, but all this world, all the bad world - he saw the perfect. And Nikolai wanted us to see this world as perfect,” Victoria Anatska, wife of a military photographer, shared.

Nikolai Anatsky began to be interested in photography after graduating from school. Father of Lieutenant of the National Guard of Ukraine Leonid Anatsky recalled that his son was creative, loved to read a lot, had a musical ear, but most of all he liked was photography, which later turned into a profession.

“At the photo exhibition, we saw the life of my son from the other side. This is a part of life that we have not seen. We looked at the photo, but here everything looks different and we are very worried about it. We are grateful that colleagues and friends are so touched by our son and created this exhibition”, - said Leonid Anatsky.

During the opening of the photo exhibition, the launch of the Nikolay Anatsky Prize was announced.

“The works of Nikolai Anatsky carry not only spirit, emotion, but convey some life stories of those people depicted in these photographs, they also have a high artistic value. Therefore, we are launching the Nikolay Anatsky Prize for military photographers working today in Ukraine during the war. The goal is for talented military photographers to have additional support and of course to perpetuate the memory of our Nicholas. He was very talented and he deserved it,” Lesya Chervinskaya said.

Within a few days, Kyiv residents and visitors of the city will be able to see the work of Nikolay Anatsky not only at the metro station “Golden Gate”, but also on the metrolights at all metro stations.
