202 pyrotechnic calculations of the SNS received specialized equipment for demining and protection. The assistance was provided by UNDP with the support of the European Union and the governments of Denmark, Japan and Sweden. The solemn transfer of equipment certificates took place in Kyiv on the

occasion of the International Day of Education on Mine Hazards and Assistance in Mining-Related Activities. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Kateryna Pavlichenko, Deputy Permanent Representative of UNDP in Ukraine Christoforos Politis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Remy Duflo, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Remy Duflo, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine Jens Martin Alsbirk, Head of the Reform Support Department of the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine Adam Amberg, representatives of the SNS and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the welcoming speech, Deputy Ekaterina Pavlichenko stressed that 30% of Ukraine's territory - 174 thousand square kilometers - has been mined since the beginning of the full-scale Russian attack.

“So far, the figure has been reduced by almost 5%. The units of fire technicians of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and the National Guard neutralized more than 780 thousand units of explosive objects. Sapper and pyrotechnic units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs use modern equipment, including mechanized demining machines. With their help, our specialists remove dozens, hundreds of dangerous objects every day,” the deputy minister said.

At the same time, the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that the situation is most difficult in the temporarily occupied territories. After all, the longer they are under occupation, the denser they are mined by the enemy. In turn, the international partners emphasized the constant and continuous support of Ukraine in the field of humanitarian demining.

“The demining of the entire territory of Ukraine will continue for years. I assure you that Japan, together with everyone, will not stand aside. We will support you until Ukraine is completely cleared of mines. We know that pyrotechnic calculations require a lot of equipment. And we, together with international partners, will provide this assistance,” said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda. “Mine pollution prevents Ukrainians from living a full life.

Therefore, every day we are working on the introduction of new technologies with artificial intelligence in the issue of demining territories. Today we provide equipment for 202 pyrotechnic calculations of the SNS. We are doing this together - Japan, Denmark, Sweden,” said Christoforos Politis. Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Remy Duflo noted the courage of Ukrainian pyrotechnicians.

“I am proud to be able to deliver demining equipment today that saves lives. The scale of the contamination, indeed, is impressive. Therefore, responding to the needs of Ukraine, the EU provided equipment for more than 50 million euros for humanitarian demining”, - emphasized Remy Duflo. Certificates for equipment and personal protective equipment were received by the Deputy Chairman of the State Emergency Service Roman Primus.

About 80% of all SNS calculations will be equipped with this equipment, which will greatly increase their capabilities and safety. “We are grateful for the equipment that the SNS received today.

We feel and see your real support since the beginning of a full-scale war. Specialized metal detectors, equipment for blasting works, other equipment - this is the equipment that contributes to the fastest possible mining. We thank the governments of Japan, Sweden, Denmark, as well as the European Union for strengthening the capabilities of our units,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

In addition, active attention was paid during the event to conduct educational activities on the issues of mine safety. Awareness of children and adolescents with safety rules in case of detection of PNP is a priority area of work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In this regard, the department also cooperates with international partners. Last year, mobile security classes began their work, which also operate in front-line regions. More than 55,000 students have already attended classes on the rules of safe behavior.
