Anniversary of the Brovary Tragedy

Exactly one year ago, the aircraft factory in Brovary killed the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, employees of the department, crew members and four civilians.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko, together with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, the heads of the central executive bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, relatives and acquaintances of the dead honored the memory of all victims of the airstrike.
A flower-laying ceremony took place at the Baikove cemetery, where the leadership and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are buried. Subsequently, in St. Sophia Cathedral, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphany, held a memorial funeral for the dead.

At the plenary session of the Kyiv City Council, the majority of deputies decided to rename and name 29 city objects. Among them is to rename Surikov Street, in Solomenskiy district of Kiev, in honor of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky, who died in the plane crash.
“Residents have made their choice, and based on these results, the deputy corps of the Kyiv City Council makes a decision. We are going to the finish line, and soon the process of derusification of urban facilities will be finally completed. There will never be more space for Russian narratives on the map of the capital. The aggressor who kills our people has no right to be exalted in a free Ukraine,” said Deputy Mayor — Secretary of Kyiv City Council Volodymyr Bondarenko.

“A year when the terrible airstrip took the lives of 14 people, 7 of whom were managers and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is an irreparable loss for loved ones. Colossal loss for the state,” the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko expressed his condolences

The entire crew of the helicopter: Alexander Vasilenko, Konstantin Kovalenko, Ivan Kasyanov. The plane crash also took the lives of 4 residents of Brovary: Elena and Milana Ponomarenko, Marina Granovskaya, Tatiana Boichenko.
