The family of the border guard Oleksandr Bursov who died in the fighting for Ukraine was presented with a state award
In Zhytomyr, the Deputy Director of the Personnel Department of the Administration of the State Border Service of Ukraine Brigadier General Ivan Vasylchuk and the leadership of the 9th border detachment named after the Sichov Striltsy awarded the wife of the fallen defender the Order “For Courage” of the III degree.
Senior Master Sergeant Alexander Bursov died on May 12, 2022, during the defense of Mariupol, as a result of massive enemy bombardment with vacuum bombs.
For 28 years of his life, Alexander served in the border department. Always smiling, friendly, cheerful, calm, balanced. He never hid behind other people's backs when it was necessary to act. This was also the case when the enemy came to Ukraine.
The border guard, together with his brothers, took up arms from the first day of the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders. As part of one of the border units, he fearlessly and desperately held the defense of Azovstal.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine for personal courage and selfless actions in defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, Senior Master Sergeant Oleksandr Bursov was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the III degree (posthumously).
