The family of the deceased national guard from Volyn received a state award
Junior Sergeant Viktor Sizhuk is a war veteran and combatant, served as the commander of the evacuation department of the maintenance platoon of weapons and equipment of the operational battalion in one of the units of the National Guard of Ukraine. While performing another task near Bakhmut in February 2023, he received injuries incompatible with life.
“Victor was one with me. He stood a mountain for his family and comrades. He was thirty-five. Beloved husband, courageous, loving father of his daughter. He really is a hero to me who, from the first day of the war, made his choice. “I am going to defend my Motherland for the sake of my family and my future daughter,” was his position, which I could not deny,” recalls the wife of the deceased Natalia.
For personal courage and selfless actions in defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the National Guard was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree. The award was presented by the head of the Vladimir district military administration of the Volyn region Yuri Lobach and representatives of the unit of the National Guard.
