The work of the special unit “Omega” on the front line
Special agents of the National Guard of Ukraine “Omega” have been defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine for 9 years in a row. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, our guys held off the enemy's offensive in Kyiv, Kharkiv region, Donetsk region and Luhansk region. Some of them — namely the Northern Special Purpose Detachment has been in Donetsk direction for 8 months in a row. Here they operate in the most difficult areas of the front, where it is necessary to strengthen the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The commander of the Northern Security Service of the National Guard Andriy is confident that the offensive actions of the enemy in some parts of the front in the Donetsk region will intensify in the near future. After all, there are many cities that are near Donetsk and interfere with the occupiers. Special agents say that the information that the enemy has a critically low number of shells is false.
“In our direction, the enemy's “shell hunger” is not noticeable, we see this in view of daily attacks by air and artillery. The enemy does not abandon attempts to storm the positions of our fighters,” the commander said.
In the direction where Omega operates, the Ukrainian military is mostly opposed by soldiers of the so-called “DPR”, which are diluted by units of the marines and special forces of the Russian Federation.
“The militants are more motivated than the regular military of the Russian Federation, because the soldiers of the so-called “DPR” understand that the Ukrainian defenders will not forgive them for the betrayal of Ukraine. Therefore, in the attacks they are more selfless, although not trained,” says Andriy.
Special officers of the Armed Forces of the Northern TU of the NGU have repeatedly participated in urban battles. The most difficult they consider to be those that were in Severodonetsk. That is why they have an idea of what awaits the cities near Donetsk and how the enemy can act.
“Urban battles are the most exhausting, so there is an understanding that the enemy will not go to the front against these cities, but will bypass the flanks. The enemy suffers great losses, but every day the enemy's vitality is replenished. Therefore, we also prepare and do not lose vigilance,” the commander assures.
