According to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, which is in force in the European Union, as well as in many countries such as Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia — you can use a national driver's license.

All valid driver's licenses on the territory of Ukraine can be found in the section “Samples of Ukrainian driver's licenses” on the website of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

That is, those certificates that have been issued by the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for several years in a row are valid in the European Union and a number of countries that have ratified the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.

In addition, at the end of July, the Regulation on the use of Ukrainian driver's licenses in EU countries came into force. The changes apply only to persons who enjoy temporary or adequate protection. This document establishes special rules for expired, lost or stolen Ukrainian driver's licenses, including allowing the use of licenses whose fields are filled only in Cyrillic — provided there is a document confirming the status of temporary or proper protection.

That is, the police of EU member states may require the presentation of a passport, document of temporary residence or other document to confirm the identity of the driver's license holder.

And in countries that have ratified the Geneva Convention on Road Traffic, it is necessary to have an addition to the national driver's license - an international driver's license. This is, for example, Canada, the United States, the Dominican Republic, India, Egypt and other countries.

The full list of countries in the world that have ratified the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic and where you can use a national driver's license can also be found in the “Frequently Asked Questions” section on the website of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
