Relatives of dead policemen of Kherson region awarded state awards
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine, police officers of the Kherson region Alexander Pyatun and Sergey Makarov, who died in the fight against the Russian aggressor and during the liquidation of the consequences of the occupation, were awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree posthumously.
The awards to the families of the fallen heroes in execution of the order of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine were presented by the head of the GUNP in the Kherson region Igor Korol together with the leadership of the region.
Inspector on duty of police sector No. 1 of police department No. 1 of Beryslav RVP GUNP in Kherson region, police lieutenant colonel Alexander Pyatun was fatally wounded on August 22, 2022, when the Russian army launched a missile strike on the place of deployment of police officers.
Alexander received burns of 80% of his body, the doctors of the burn center until the last fought for the life of the policeman. But, unfortunately, on August 1, Alexander Pyatun died. The state award was presented to the father and mother of the deceased hero.
Deputy Chief of Police Department No. 2 of the Skadovsky RVP for preventive activities of the GUNP in the Kherson region, Major of Police Sergey Makarov died during the demining of the territory.
On December 7, 2022, in a field near one of the settlements of the Daryiv territorial community, a policeman, together with colleagues from the consolidated detachment, fell into a mine trap left by the occupiers. Sergey received numerous shrapnel wounds. On December 18, despite all the efforts of doctors and prayers of relatives, the policeman's heart stopped. The award was presented to the wife of the deceased defender, who is now raising her son herself.
Police Colonel Igor Korol expressed his words of support and condolences to the relatives of the dead:
“We share your grief, no words can lessen it, we grieve with you and support in the hour of mourning. Thank you to the parents who raised the faithful sons of Ukraine. I bow my head to my wife and child, who are left without parental support and warmth. Alexander Pyatun and Sergey Makarov will forever remain in our memory and hearts.”
