The Head of the State DPSU presented state awards to the relatives of the heroes of the border guards who died in battle
The head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Major General Serhiy Deineko presented battle awards from the President of Ukraine to the relatives of the fallen Captain of Justice Andriy Subotin and Senior Sergeant Sergei Kuzovyk, who died heroically during the repulse of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against of Ukraine.
Since April 2022, Andrei Subotin, as part of a group from the Donetsk border detachment, performed combat tasks in the operational subordination of the commander of the battalion of the National Guard on the territory of “Azovstal”. On May 7, 2022, during combat duty, the officer came under fire from a grenade launcher and a rifle weapons, as a result of which he received injuries incompatible with life.
According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine, Captain of Justice Subotin Andriy was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree (posthumously).
Serhiy Kuzovyk died in the area of Bayrak settlement of Kharkiv region as a result of artillery shelling, while performing a combat task as part of the assault group of the Border Rapid Response Command.
For his personal courage and dedication in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, Senior Sergeant Kuzovyk Serhiy was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the III degree (posthumously).
The head of the border department presented the award to the wife of the deceased - Valeria Karpilenko, who only a few days earlier returned from enemy captivity.
Serhiy Kuzovyk Award was presented by the Head of the Service to the son of the deceased Hero — Andriy. The example of his father in the liberation of the Motherland is worthy of being a guide for the rest of his life and if on the path of the young man there is a need for support from the border agency - border guards are those people on whom he can always rely as his relatives, - noted the head of the border department in communication with the son of the Hero Border Guard.
