Rescuers found a tourist who decided to conquer the Carpathians on crutches
On May 10, at 07:35 the rescuers received a message that while passing a tourist route in a forest area near the village. A 42-year-old Kyiv resident has lost his landmark and needs help just outside the Khust district.
Specialists of the Mizhgorsk Mountain Search and Rescue Department were sent to carry out the search work. Fortunately, there was a connection with the tourist and rescuers quickly located the location of the lost. At 09:45 they had already communicated with the man and found out that he had been traveling the mountains on crutches for almost a week!
Last day it rained in the Carpathians, and at night the air temperature dropped to 3 degrees of frost, so barely waiting for the morning, the man turned to rescuers for help.
When rescuers found the man, he was extremely exhausted and dehydrated. They doused him with hot tea and fed him sandwiches. Then they were wrapped in a thermal blanket and carried on a stretcher first to their vehicle, and from there to the village of Mizhgirya.
