Rescuers helped a foreigner who was injured in the mountains
On September 6, at 20:00 the citizens of the Republic of Poland appealed to the Rescue Service, who were marching from the village of Kvasy in the Transcarpathian region to the Pip Ivan Chornogorsky mountain. Travelers reported that one of the tourists injured his right knee and he needed the help of rescuers.
Rescuers from the search and rescue department of Yavirnyk were sent to help. Emergency workers provided first aid to the man and later, with the help of a quad bike, he was transported to an emergency medical machine.
In turn, rescuers appeal to citizens with a request to observe safety rules while resting in the mountains. In particular, you need to carefully plan your tourist trips, objectively assess your own strength and physical condition.
It is worth remembering that safety in the mountains depends on many factors, in particular — proper training, organization, discipline, observance of basic safety rules, appropriate clothing, shoes, etc., as well as knowledge of the terrain and its natural obstacles.
Rescuers ask tourists to register their hike with mountain search and rescue units. For convenience, this can be done in advance through online forms posted on the sites of territorial units of the Western Region Rescue Service.
Rescuers are also advised to use the application “Rescue in the mountains”.
This application is designed to communicate tourists with the rescue service, namely:
• voice calls;
• transmission of “SOS” signals with geographical coordinates.
