Sappers step by step clean the territory of Ukraine of explosive objects.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Nikolaev area has become one of the most mined regions. 57 pyrotechnicians work daily on its minesweeping.

During this time, 4,944 hectares have been allocated by pyrotechnic calculations, including 20 hectares of water area. A total of 18,509 units of various explosive devices were seized, of which 57 were aircraft bombs.

The “variety” of ammunition with which the “sown” Nikolaev region is now striking. Only since May of this year, pyrotechnics detected and destroyed 358 units of cassette elements and cluster munitions, anti-infantry mines - 82, anti-tank mines - 234, artillery, (tank) shells - 851, hand grenades - 140, explosives - 127, rocket ammunition (hail, hurricane, missiles) — 188 and much more. There are both homemade explosive devices and mini-traps.

In addition, demining continues in the de-occupied territories of the Kherson region. Unfortunately, since the beginning of 2023, 90 people have suffered as a result of non-observance of safety measures and rules of conduct in case of detection of explosive objects, of which 34 people died, and another 56 were injured.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the large-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, 419 thousand 830 explosive items and 2 thousand 892 kg of explosives have been defused, including 3 thousand 74 aircraft bombs. The area of more than 92 thousand 171 hectares was surveyed.

Rescuers also appeal to citizens and urge to be cautious and cautious.
