Emergency rescue workers continue active work to eliminate the consequences of flooding in Slovenia
Since the beginning of the work, the rescuers of the SNS unit operating in Slovenia have cleared and expanded 410 m of the Savinja river bed, equipped 60 m of the dam and strengthened 120 m of the shore. We organized the transportation by two tractors of the State Emergency Service of large-sized military engineering equipment to the area of emergency recovery work.
In addition, they provided assistance to local residents in dismantling the destroyed house, which is located in the bed of the Savigna River.
Also today, Ukrainian rescuers met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanya Fayon and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia Andriy Taran. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia visited the locations where the specialists of the State Emergency Service work.
“The country, which is very difficult for itself, has found the opportunity to come to the rescue, for which Slovenia is very grateful to Ukraine,” the Minister said.
Approximately in two days, emergency responders have to change the direction of the river bed here. After that, they will be engaged in coastal fortification from the side of the settlement, where there are residential buildings.
