Emergency rescue workers master a new technique for humanitarian demining (VIDEO)
As a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, our lands have become the most mined in the world. On a daily basis, sappers, risking their lives, discover and neutralize the killer metal.
It is known that during the past 24 hours the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service were involved 136 times, 527 explosive items were detected, seized and neutralized, an area of 278.89 hectares was surveyed. Most often, pyrotechnic units worked: 22 thousand 894 times in Kharkiv region, 8 thousand in Kyiv region. 761, Donetsk region — 7 thousand 997, Mykolaiv region — 6 thousand 011, Kherson region — 7 thousand 661, Chernihiv region — 4 thousand 945, Sumy region — 2 thousand 512, Cherkasy region — 1 thousand 299.
Currently, the operator sappers of the mechanized demining department of the SNS are trained to operate the Digger D-250 demining machine. Such machines are necessary for our pyrotechnicians, because robotic equipment has remote control and can operate at a distance of half a kilometer from the operator.
This makes the process safer for sappers, as well as faster and more efficient. After the exercises, pyrotechnics will go to the de-occupied territories of Ukraine to clean settlements from ammunition.
It should be noted that special equipment for SNS sappers was donated to the Digger Foundation and Vanforlife.
