The results of the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the year: the launch of the 112 service
In his official Telegram channel, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko spoke about the interim results of the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular about the 112 service — “Single Window” for emergency notifications.
“In March, I announced preparations for the implementation of 112. And already in July we opened the first communication center in Kyiv. By the end of the year, the project was scaled up. And today, the emergency services call number 112 is available, in addition to the capital, also in six regions of Ukraine: Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kiev, Lviv, Cherkasy and Chernihiv,” Igor Klymenko noted.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that since the launch on 112, almost half a million calls from citizens have already been received.
“The 112 service is also about accessibility. Operators speak foreign languages. People with hearing or speech impairments can also contact the line. Experts have already processed more than 5500 appeals in sign language using video communication. The plans are to make the 112 line accessible throughout Ukraine. We have worked out clear development steps and we know what to do next!”, - summed up Igor Klymenko.
