Register of missing persons: how to report, where to apply and what documents are needed
Primary information in the Register is usually entered by the bodies of the National Police of Ukraine. To do this, relatives of the missing person must submit an application to the territorial unit of the National Police.
When contacting law enforcement officers, the applicant must have:
- passport;
- documents confirming the family relationship with the missing person;
- notification of the military unit about the disappearance of a serviceman (if possible)
- extract from the act of official investigation (if possible).
After that, the police register the criminal proceedings, and information about the missing person under special circumstances goes to the Register.
