Rehabilitation by sports: veterans from all over Ukraine took part in the “Games of the Unconquered” competitions
The competition was held this weekend in Lviv. According to the results of the competition, they will form a national team that will represent Ukraine at the VI international sports competitions “Invictus Games-2023”, which will be held in the city. Dusseldorf (Germany) in September this year.
223 military and veterans who suffered injuries as a result of fighting took part in the competition, from 24 regions of Ukraine, including 16 border guards.
“Fighters whose will is stronger than the body is about all the participants of the Invincible Games. From the moment you made the decision to compete in the Invincible Games, you are all winners. You overcame your pain and decided to recover. I am proud that the community is growing and you are joining the competition. But, unfortunately, there are those unconquered who will never be able to perform again. During the war, Ukraine lost 10 members of the Invincible team,” Yulia Laputina, Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, said at the opening ceremony of the “Games of the Unconquered”.
It should be noted that the main goal of these competitions is sports rehabilitation. After all, each of the servicemen participating in the competition has already won the most important victory - victory over himself and proved that his spirit and will are stronger than his body.
