More than a hundred wounded were taken out together with the medical crew: the story of the medic of the evacuation team Ilya (VIDEO)
Ukraine continues to fight the Russian invader, and among those who came to defend the country, there are people of different specialties, professions and with different life paths. One of them is 23-year-old Ilya Zelinsky, who after two years of working as an artist in the circus decided to join the National Guard of Ukraine.
Ilya entered the front in February 2023 and worked in the forests of Kreminna until August of the same year. During this time, he and his crew took out more than a hundred wounded.
The work of an evacuation medic in a combat zone requires not only medical skills, but also the ability to act quickly and effectively in extreme conditions.
Ilya emphasizes the importance of psychological support for the injured, telling about their hobby and interests that help them forget about pain and fear.
“When we take out the wounded, when the questions run out, and you don't know what to ask anymore, I just say, “I know the rhyme, very interesting.” And I begin to tell,” says Ilya.
Even in the most difficult conditions, when the evacuation crews came under fire, Ilya and his colleagues continued their work, trying to help every wounded person who needed their help.
Ilya Zelinsky is just one of the many heroes who stand up for their country without any hesitation and risk their lives to protect others.
