Combating organized crime: the police introduced a decision-making mechanism to ban the entry of subjects of increased criminal influence
In April, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine authorized the strategic investigations units of the National Police to decide to ban foreigners and stateless persons from entering Ukraine. The corresponding order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is registered with the Ministry of Justice.
From now on, in order to more effectively combat transnational and ethnic organized crime, the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police has the opportunity to take the initiative to prohibit the entry into the territory of our state to persons of the categories “lawless”, “criminal authority”, controlled and close persons brought to them.
In addition, strategic investigation units will be able to minimize the impact on the viability of the country from pro-Russian categories of persons who intend to destabilize the situation both in individual regions of the country and in the state as a whole.
Such a document was adopted for the purpose of timely response, prevention of crimes and quick resolution of issues regarding the prevention of activities in our country of representatives of foreign “criminality”, their accomplices and sponsors.
