Offered a bribe to the border guard: the DPSU's own security exposed the man
The 43-year-old native of Zaporizhzhia intended to cross the border without proper documents. In order to “solve” the issue of illegal departure, the man offered the border guard of the “Rava-Ruska” department of the Lviv detachment an illegal benefit in the amount of $2,000. However, he received a categorical refusal.
The fact of undue benefit was documented by a joint interdepartmental group consisting of officers of the VVVB in the Lviv Border Detachment of the GVVB “West”, employees of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Lviv region, investigators of the GUPN in the Lviv region under the procedural guidance of Lviv Specialized prosecutor's office in the field of defense of the Western region.
The attacker was detained according to Art. 208 Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers informed the man of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 369 “Offer, promise, or grant an improper benefit to an official”. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of four to eight years.
