“Walking” through water and mines to save lives: the story of a combat medic (VIDEO)
After graduating from medical college, Valery joined the ranks of the border service, where he got his nickname “Psych”.
During his two years of service, the border guard, together with his unit, carried out a series of fantastic missions. Evacuated the dead from the minefield, raised funds with his brothers on boats and organized an evacuation route through the reservoir, treated civilians from the frontline villages.
The missions of “Psycho” will certainly go down in the history of war and in the history of field medicine. One day he saved a fighter with a bullet wound to the head.
In 7 months in the East, the medical team carried out a significant number of ultra-complex evacuations. Including on the water.
“The site of the fighting was near the reservoir. We calculated the route, the only thing left was for watercraft. Mediatisation helped. They abandoned the collection and by the evening there were already funds for boats and motors,” the border guard recalls.
Thus, it was possible to save a lot of fighters from various forces fighting in the Eastern direction, for which Valery's team was noted by colleagues from the units of the Armed Forces. From time to time, the military helped civilians. In the frontline villages lived mainly people of retirement age, who were constantly under fire and needed help.
“There is no difference: who is from which department, civilian or military, there are simply people who need help, and our task is to do everything to save their lives,” explains the combat medic.
The key to survival and victory is the coordinated work of the unit, original and thoughtful planning of operations, trust in the team. Currently, the border guard is preparing newcomers to military affairs.
“My team had a cool art director and media personalities. All of them have learned to act as one integral mechanism” - says Valery and invites people with medical education and motivated laypeople to join the ranks of border guards and go to school in one of the best units.
