Professional Psychologist and Forbidden Substance Finder: The Story of a Border Guard Dog Named Yasha
An unusual border guard - Yasha, who responsibly performs his duties, is on duty in Kharkiv region.
He is a hunter from birth, but he was destined to catch not foxes and hares, but lovers of narcotic substances. It shows unique abilities in detecting prohibited substances, even hidden in hard-to-reach places or with a faint aroma. His advantage is his sense of smell, which is much more sensitive than that of humans, and he is a service dog.
Yashi is already 4 years old. Started service at a railway checkpoint. Was on a “business trip” at the airport. As a “real man”, Yasha loves the attention of women and is delighted with children.
It was this feature that came in handy when thousands of people with children hid in the subway from the constant shelling of Kharkov. And Yasha here quite “showed himself” - because only in his presence the psychological climate around immediately “stabilizes”.
More than entertainment, the four-legged border guard loves his work. In the service, he is very concentrated and upset when he finds nothing, because he is trained from a young age that the main thing is to discover and obtain.
One of the recent finds of a beagle is a kilogram package with a synthetic drug - “salt”, which a bus passenger tried to transport to Kharkov through one of the checkpoints. He does not tolerate lovers of “potions” and “hands over” them even when they have several grams of “fool”.
“Now Yash has a career “heyday”, and he, as a professional, does not miss a single violator,” says dog biologist Natalia.
