Three residents of Kryvyi Rih called citizens, asked them for confidential financial number information and reissued SIM cards to seize people's money.

The attackers called citizens under the guise of bank employees and were persuaded to provide information about financial numbers allegedly to protect their accounts. After obtaining confidential data, fraudsters made unauthorized access to SIM cards by reissuing and duplicating them.

Subsequently, fraudsters without the knowledge of the owners transferred money to controlled bank accounts. To do this, they used a unique number-password of bank customers, which is a means of identification of the transfer.

Law enforcement officers conducted six searches and seized computer equipment, mobile phones, bank cards used in the fraudulent seizure of funds and cash.

The amount of losses of half a million hryvnias has already been established. According to preliminary data, which will be checked during the investigation, the members of the group searched more than 50 people, and therefore the total amount of damage may be more than a million hryvnias.

According to the results of the searches, the organizer, the co-organizer and the performer were detained and informed about the suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 361 (Unauthorized interference in the work of information (automated), electronic communication, information and communication systems, electronic communication networks), part 4 of Art. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
