Border guards detained five evaders and three smugglers on the border with Romania
Eight men who tried to bypass the checkpoint were detained by the border guards of the “Yablunivka” section of the Mukachiv detachment in Transcarpathia.
Information about a possible attempt to carry out illegal activities was provided by employees of the operational and search department of the Mukachevo detachment. Cars on which intruders were moving, border guards stopped on the outskirts of the village of Steblivka.
Detainees turned out to be military citizens of Ukraine. Five of the men, with the help of three shippers accompanying them, intended to enter Romania illegally.
In the course of further clarification of the circumstances, it became known that the dealers planned to receive from each client from 3 to 4 thousand US dollars for their services. The fugitives were men from different regions of the country — Mykolaiv region, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Kharkiv region, Kyiv region and Transcarpathia.
The carriers themselves are residents of Transcarpathia. On the detection in their actions of signs of a crime provided for in Art. 332 Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine” border guards sent a message to the Khust regional police department.
