Border guards detained 13 men who tried to illegally cross the state border
During the weekend, within the framework of the operational and preventive measures “Frontier 2022”, the border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment brought 13 Ukrainian citizens to justice for the attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine.
In particular, the border guards of the border department of the Porubne border service detained four offenders who tried to enter Romania outside the checkpoints. During the arrest, the border guard was forced to fire warning shots to stop one of the men who escaped. Detainees turned out to be residents of the Chernivtsi region, conscripts, who are currently restricted from leaving Ukraine. For malicious disobedience towards the fugitive, the border guards drew up a protocol under Art. 185 kUPap.
At the same time, over the weekend, the soldiers of the Kelmenci, Hertz and Mamaliga departments stopped seven cases of illegal border crossing and detained another nine conscripts who were illegally trying to enter Moldova and Romania. The men, residents of Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, could not confirm the purpose of their arrival at the border, and later confessed their intention to cross the border illegally.
All detainees are held accountable under Article 204-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine”. In addition, a notice was sent to the National Police on the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Art. 336 of the Criminal Code “Evasion of conscription for mobilization”.
