Border guards exposed the channel of arms sales from the combat zone
The illegal scheme, in which residents of several regions of the country were involved, was discovered by the operatives of the State Border Guard Service. Criminal analysis specialists of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service were also involved in the development and establishment of the persons involved.
In the course of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that residents of the Transcarpathian and Lviv regions established a stable supply channel of weapons, ammunition and explosives from the combat zone, with the aim of their further sale on the territory of Ukraine.
As a result of a number of events, the organizer of illegal activities was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He was handed a notice of suspicion of committing a crime stipulated in Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and chose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
Note that for committing this crime, the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to seven years.
In addition, a number of searches were carried out at the places of residence of the persons involved within the Transcarpathian and Lviv regions. According to their results, 11 units of firearms, 194 rounds of small arms, ammunition for large-caliber machine guns of various calibers and shots from grenade launchers, hand grenades, components for weapons and the manufacture of ammunition, as well as other items and things that confirm the illegality were seized. activity.
The events were held jointly with the USBU operatives and the investigators of the State Administrative Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian specialized prosecutor's office in the field of defense.
