Border guards found several evaders in different parts of the border: someone tried to escape through the mountains, someone across the river
The other day, the border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment detained a resident of Kyiv region who tried to conquer the Carpathian Mountains and Romania, and six people who went to Moldova.
In the first case, thanks to early operational information, it was possible to prevent the violation of the border and frostbite of the limbs of a 39-year-old resident of Kyiv region. The outfit discovered the man during the night overcoming engineering structures on one of the mountainous sections of the border of the “Selyatyn” department. “Tourist” in 20-degree frost, in demi-season sneakers, planned to reach Romania.
Border guards also detained six people heading to Moldova. The offenders were detected during an attempt to enter the border strip at the sections of the departments “Sokiryany”, “Kelmentsy” and “Mamalyga”. All were taken to the border units and issued the relevant documents. Subsequently, the court will provide an assessment of the actions of the violators.
Also, during the monitoring of the Ukrainian-Romanian section of the border, the border guards of the Velyky Bychkiv branch pulled a semi-unconscious 26-year-old IT resident from the Tisa River, a resident of Sumy.
From hypothermia, dressed in a wetsuit and life jacket, the man lay on the edge of a steep river bank and showed almost no signs of life. The soldiers immediately pulled the man out of the water and lifted him to a flat area, where first aid was provided to the victim. Afterwards, they were transported to the unit, given hot tea and provided with dry clothes.
From the explanations of the rescued man, it became known that he was driven to a desperate step by the announcement in the Telegram channel about the “legal” border crossing. Therefore, the “traveler”, who had no reason to go abroad during the martial law, gathered his things and came to Transcarpathia, where instead of the promised “legal” border crossing — through the official checkpoint, he was offered an “extreme” — through the full-water icy Tyssa in the dark days. The cost of the services of dealers was $5 thousand.
Believing the “tour operator” that he would cross the river in shallow water, the IT man put on the provided life jacket and wetsuit and went into the cold water, not expecting to be deep there at all. In the first minutes, the man slipped, lost his orientation and began to drown. The swift current carried him to shore, but due to the extreme cold and spasm of his limbs, the man was unable to get out of the water. Fortunately, the new moon spotted the border outfit and pulled it out of mortal danger.
Currently, the operatives of the unit establish the circle of persons involved in the organization of the illegal border crossing of the rescued Sumyanin. It is worth noting that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, 19 cases of death of men during the crossing of the Tisza have been recorded in the area of responsibility of the Mukachevo border detachment.
We warn all those who wish to cross the border illegally not to put themselves in danger and not to believe fraudsters who claim to be able to secure a safe crossing of the border by river or mountain highlands. Organizers of illegal transportation of persons across the border never worry about the fate and preservation of the lives of their “clients”, putting them in danger for the sake of monetary rewards.
But a local resident of Lviv region, who organized a scheme for illegal transportation of persons across the border, was notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense, provided for by Art. 332 Criminal Code
As established by law enforcement officers, a 65-year-old man volunteered for monetary reward to transfer four men of conscription age from Ukraine to Poland. For his services, he invited $4,000 from one person.
It is worth noting that earlier the man was repeatedly detained by border guards for organizing an illegal transfer through the state border. Ukrainian was convicted for attempting to illegally transfer two groups of foreigners across the border. And since the beginning of the imposition of martial law, the grief leader has been retrained from illegals to men who intend to avoid mobilization. However, this time he will not be able to avoid responsibility.
Investigators informed the defendant of the case about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 332 Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine. The court chose a preventive measure for the organizer of the illegal scheme in the form of detention with the right to make a bail in the amount of more than 1.2 million hryvnias.

A soldier of one of the border guard units of the Chop Detachment was accused of contributing to the unhindered movement of tobacco products from Ukraine to Slovakia.
Officers of the Department of Internal and Own Security of the DPSU detained the inspector during the receipt of the second part of the illegal benefit in the amount of $1,000. Law enforcement determined that for a $1,500 bribe, 500 of which he received beforehand, the border guard was to inform the smugglers of the time and location of the outfits at the unit's area of responsibility. The offenders planned to transport cigarettes across the border using a drone.
The briber was detained in the city of Perechyn together with employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, the territorial department of the SBI, under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Western region.
The serviceman was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.
