Border guards liquidated the channel of illegal transportation of persons from Ukraine to Slovakia
In Transcarpathia, operational staff of the Chopsky border detachment exposed men of conscription age to a hot organizer of transportation across the border, as well as a conductor who was supposed to bring “clients” directly to the state border.
Joint interdepartmental group, consisting of employees of the operational-search unit of the Chop border detachment, the Migration Police, the investigators of the police department No. 2 of the Uzhhorod RUP GUNP in the Transcarpathian region, under the procedural leadership of the Uzhgorod district prosecutor's office and with the strong support of the special forces unit “KORD”, within the framework of the control of the commission of the crime, exposed and documented the channel of illegal transfer of persons of conscription age from Ukraine to Slovakia in order to evade military service during mobilization.
During the complex of operational-search measures, law enforcement officers established that the defendants had to organize and transport three men — residents of Kharkiv region — across the border for monetary reward. The cost of such a service was 3 thousand US dollars per person. The crossing of the border was planned in the Uzhgorod region.
The organizer was detained in the city of Uzhgorod while directly receiving money in the amount of $6,000 from the “clients”, and the conductor — in his personal residence in Veliky Berezny during the search. The evaders were also at the transporter's house at the time.
Urgent investigative actions are currently being carried out. The issue of notifying detainees of suspicion of committing a criminal offense, provided for in Part 3 of Art. 332 Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.
