Border guards ready to start crossing operations at the new crossing “Dyakivtsi — Rakovets” on the border with Romania
A new international road crossing point on the Romanian border will start operating soon. The reconstruction of the border infrastructure has been completed in full.
According to the Agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Romania, a round-the-clock mode of operation of the checkpoint is defined for pedestrian, road (including buses), except freight, traffic. At the first stage, the checkpoint will be opened for the passage of empty trucks and tanks, and later, depending on the creation of the necessary infrastructure conditions, and for the movement of other types of vehicles and goods.
The planned throughput capacity of the point per day is up to 300 units of vehicles, including 10 buses, 1,550 citizens, including 500 pedestrians. There are 6 lanes for registration of vehicles and a separate lane for persons crossing the border on foot.
A separate structural unit of border guards has been created at the crossing point “Dyakivtsi” for the implementation of crossing operations. The staff of the department has undergone appropriate training and is ready to carry out border control of citizens and vehicles. All workplaces for passport control are equipped with computer equipment with access to databases, as well as other necessary means.
It should be noted that since November 10 of last year, on the Ukrainian-Romanian border in the Chernivtsi region, the international road checkpoint “Krasnoilsk - Vikove de Sus” began operation. During the three months of its operation, more than 85 thousand citizens and 34 thousand units of vehicles were registered. In the established order, more than 10 thousand trucks and 24 thousand cars crossed the state border.
