Border guard Vasily considers canology a business of his life, which he did not leave even after the loss of a four-legged friend
He started the service two years ago in the Luhansk region in the town of Schastya, where he met a full-scale invasion.
“Massive shelling began a few days before February 24, and we understood that there was a threat of a full-scale invasion by the forces of the aggressor's country. When the shelling of the city itself and the offensive of the enemy began, we occupied the defense of our unit. There was a lot of enemy equipment and infantry, our forces were uneven, so we had to retreat to the second line of defense. We managed to get out of hellish positions, but we did not manage to evacuate our partner and until now I do not know his further fate,” the border guard recalls with sadness.
Vasily believes that his partner will still be found. In the meantime, he serves in Lviv region and educates his four-legged companion Jessica, a spaniel breed, with whom he masters new knowledge and skills in finding narcotic substances.
Upon completion of training, he, together with his four-legged assistant, will continue to protect the borders of our state.
