Border guard Yulia Slyzka: I want to be in the ranks of those who will liberate our country from the invaders
Yulia Slyzka — Master Sergeant of the Steel Border Guard Brigade.
Immediately after graduation from the Chernivtsi National University named after. YU. Fedkovych went to serve in the State Border Service of Ukraine. It was her childhood dream. She served in the sections of the Western, Northern and Eastern Regional Offices. From 2018-2021, she served in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in the Donetsk Border Detachment.
From the first days of the full-scale invasion, she was part of her unit of the Kiev checkpoint. Now Yulia Slyzka serves in the border brigade of the “Steel Border” offensive guard and is very proud
of it.
“I want to be in the ranks of those who will liberate the territory from the invaders and return the borders of Ukraine to 91,” the border guard said.
Julia recalls February 24, 2022: “At 5:30 I had an alarm clock, I live near Zhuliany airport, I woke up at 04:30 to the sounds of explosions. I realized that the war had begun. I called a comrade at the service and asked if this was it, he confirmed my words.”
The defender says that it was difficult on the first day. “It was not clear how the defense of both Ukraine and the city of Kiev, of the airport would be organized. But the leadership rallied us and set the task. And we did it successfully,” she says.
Julia thanks all her friends border guards and wishes everyone a quick victory, indestructibility of spirit.
“The first is our psychological mood. And we have the settings, the motivation is there, we need to return our boundaries, we will cope with it. Victory will surely be for us!”, — stressed the border guard.
