European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen handed over 50 cars to the National Police and the Prosecutor General's Office

Today, February 24, on the anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv.

On Sofia Square in Kyiv, the President was met by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, dozens of law enforcement officers. This was reported in his Telegram channel by the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko.

During the official visit, the Head of the European Commission handed over 50 cars for the needs of the National Police of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General.

“It is an honor for me to be here in Ukraine at this difficult time for you. We very much hope that these cars will be useful in your vital work. I know that you are doing a tremendous job providing security and stabilization in the territories liberated from Russian occupation. I would like to thank you and all the Ukrainian people for your courage and for all that you are doing on the way to Victory!”, — said Ursula von der Leyen.

As early as tomorrow, 30 SUVs received by units of the National Police of Ukraine will work in front-line or de-occupied territories - the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted.

Igor Klymenko thanked the European partners for their support during these two years of war and noted that the transferred vehicles will be sent tomorrow to the territory closest to the combat zone.

“Today, the biggest war since World War II is taking place on the territory of our country. We hold on and win it precisely because of you. More than two thousand patrols are on duty every day in the de-occupied territories. We are engaged in the delivery of humanitarian goods, medicines, crime response. But, unfortunately, every day we lose both people and cars. We are grateful to our partners, our European friends for the support you give us. Together to Victory!”, — said the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko.
