The President noted the effectiveness of actions of border guards in the protection of the state border in Sumy region
During a working trip to Sumy region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky checked the fulfillment of tasks by units of the State Border Service of Ukraine on the state border with the aggressor country - the Russian Federation.
The head of state was directly acquainted with the organization of carrying out the service of border guards and their control at checkpoints.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also heard a report on the procedure of defense and border protection of Ukraine within the area of responsibility of the Sumy border detachment.
It was noted that Russia has intensified shelling of the Ukrainian border from its territory, the most recently suffered by the Belopil territorial community.
The border guards informed the President about the complex of measures taken in close cooperation with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in this direction in order to have every opportunity to counter the enemy.
The President of Ukraine noted the effectiveness of the actions of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine aimed at covering the state border in Sumy region.
Also during the events on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of the city of Trostyanets from the Russian invaders, the President presented two border guards with the medal “For Military Service to Ukraine”.
