The President of Ukraine awarded the 27th and 2nd Regiments of the National Guard with honorary awards
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the 27th Regiment and the 2nd Shostka Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine “For Courage and Courage”. Relevant Decrees No. 71/2023, No. 72/2023 were published on the website of the Head of State.
The soldiers of the 27th regiment of the NGU were one of the first to take the fight with the occupier on February 24, 2022. The National Guards defended the city of Chernihiv in the north and northeast, evacuated civilians during enemy shelling, and the Guard medics provided medical assistance to all who needed it. Units of the 2nd Shostka Regiment took an active part in repelling the full-scale offensive against Russia protection and protection of the city of Shostka, Sumy region.
Under the pressure of the overwhelming forces of the enemy, part of the Shostkin regiment withdrew towards Konotop-Chernihiv, while the other part of the sabotage and reconnaissance groups opposed the advance of enemy columns of equipment into the interior of Ukraine. Honorary decorations were awarded to military units in order to honor valor and heroism the ideas revealed during the protection of state sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity of Ukraine.
