The President of Ukraine thanked the rescuers of the Odessa region, who are involved in the elimination of the effects of bad weather
Due to bad weather, almost 1,500 settlements in 17 regions were de-energized. Energy companies are working everywhere to restore supply. At the moment, hundreds of people, hundreds of units of equipment work around the clock only on the part of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Assisted by the National Police, the National Guard, the municipal services involved.
“I am grateful to everyone in the regions along the lines of the regional and local authorities, who promptly joined to help people and give results. In every community, it is now important to do the maximum so that we do not lose our lives due to bad weather. Unfortunately, as of now, there are dead. The largest number is in the Odessa region, five people. My condolences to family and loved ones. At least 19 people were injured. Everyone is provided with the necessary assistance. Both at the state and regional levels, operational headquarters will work until the normal situation resumes. At the moment, the epicenter of the cyclone is moving to the northern regions - everywhere they are ready to help. There were also reports of helping drivers on blocked roads. Thank you, in particular, to the volunteers who support people in our communities. It is very important now to take care of those who live alone, who are already in old age,” the President of Ukraine said.
Volodymyr Zelensky also thanked the rescuers who are now involved in the elimination of the effects of the bad weather in the Odessa region: “Especially I want to mention today the entire staff of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Guard and the National Police, who provide assistance around the clock.
