The President awarded Valery Chernikov from the group “White Angel” with the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree
Valeriya Chernikova from Donetsk region became one of 10 police officers of Ukraine awarded this award. The girl came to the unit as a volunteer and now rescues people in the Lyman direction. During the award ceremony in Kyiv, the police officer handed Vladimir Zelensky the “White Angels” patch.
Paramedic and athlete, Valeriya Chernikova has been helping residents since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Later, she was selected for the White Angel unit, created for humanitarian missions in the combat zone.
Risking her life, the girl, along with her colleagues, saved hundreds of people. She evacuates children, provides first aid to the wounded, delivers humanitarian goods, picks up the bodies of the dead. The crew repeatedly came under enemy fire. Every day, the police cross the dangerous road over the precipice to reach the villages where the inhabitants remained.
Recently, Valeria and her partner Dmitry got married on their native land, in the de-occupied Estuary. The law enforcement family continues to serve the people.
