Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal awarded sappers engaged in mining of Chernihiv region
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal during a working trip to Chernihiv region on July 13 awarded representatives of the personnel of the built pyrotechnic detachment of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, who perform tasks on demining the region.
“The Russian invaders do not hesitate in their efforts to destroy Ukrainians, so they even mine children's toys. Ukrainian pyrotechnics and sappers have become an integral part of the return of life in the liberated territories today. Thank you for your professional work!” the Prime Minister said.
In total, 70 employees of the State Emergency Service and 27 units of equipment were involved in the work in Chernihiv region. In addition to the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service, demining units of the Danish Refugee Council operate in Prilutsky district.
In total, since February 24, sappers have seized and defused 159 thousand explosive objects (including 2 thousand aircraft bombs) in Ukraine, surveyed and mined an area of 64 thousand hectares.
