The war in Ukraine is a reminder of the relevance of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace and Security”, which calls for the involvement of women in all areas of peace-building and conflict prevention. Women and girls are facing the devastating effects of the war in Ukraine, while at the same time they are at the forefront, leading humanitarian, human rights and security efforts.

Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs is one of the leading institutions of higher education, which developed, implemented and analyzed the implementation of the previous and current Regional Action Plan for the implementation of the National Action Plan for the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace and Security”.

The Equal Opportunities team of the University, as active participants of the Kharkiv 1325 Coalition, took part in the event of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security, during which the important role of Ukrainian women in politics, defense, protection and humanitarian support to maintain peace was discussed, and further coordination was carried out cooperation.
