Law enforcers have exposed the developer of pro-Russian web resources: 100 terabytes of propaganda information were seized

The defendant created websites on which he posted publications in support of Russia, the occupation administrations, armed formations, as well as justifying the so-called “special military operation”. All of these resources have been blocked. For the crime, the suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.

It should be recalled that the offenses were exposed by the cyber police together with the investigators of the Khmelnytsky District Police Department in April of this year.

A 48-year-old man in his own home installed server equipment on which he managed the created web resources. The total volume of propaganda content amounted to more than 100 terabytes of information, including photo and video materials on communist and national socialist totalitarian regimes, illegal armed formations, promotion of the ideas of creating the so-called “New Russia” and federalization and popularization of the “Russian measure”, etc.

The audience of readers of pro-Russian resources amounted to more than 350 thousand users annually. Propaganda websites were blocked by law enforcement officers.

The defendant was informed of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 436-1 (Manufacture, dissemination of communist, Nazi symbols and propaganda of communist and national-socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspect faces up to ten years in prison. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing, within which additional qualification of the attacker's actions is possible.

Procedural management is carried out by the district prosecutor's office of the city of Khmelnitsky. SBU employees in Khmelnytskyi region also took part in the operational activities.
