Law enforcers exposed the channel of illegal transportation of persons abroad on the section of the road “Odessa-Reni”
The channel of illegal transfer of persons abroad was exposed by the operatives of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky and Izmail border detachments together with the employees of the investigative department of the GUNP in the Odessa region, representatives of the Office of Strategic Investigations.
As part of the criminal proceedings, it was established that the organizer of the illegal scheme is a 34-year-old citizen of Ukraine who lived in Odessa. He, through acquaintances, was approached by potential fugitives and provided the latter with a monetary reward of $3,000.
To implement his transaction, the man used an “assistant”, who was detained by law enforcement officers during an attempt to transport a “client” with a fake passport document through the transit section of the Odessa-Reni highway.
This scheme ended for the defendants of criminal proceedings with the notification of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine” and the choice of a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.
