Law enforcers reported on suspicion of Crimean traitor

Law enforcers reported the suspicion of a soldier who in 2014 crossed over to the side of the occupier and is fighting against Ukraine.

The former commander of the Ternopil corvette Maxim Emelyanenko faces up to fifteen years in prison for treason.

Employees of the Office for Combating Cybercrime in the Odessa region processed Internet sources, in particular, established the whereabouts and services of the traitor, and collected the evidence base together with the SBI investigators.

In 2014, during the annexation of Crimea by Russia, Captain III rank Maxim Emelyanenko, the only one of the crew, swore allegiance to the occupier.

He is currently fighting against Ukraine as part of the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the guard ship “Ladny” as an assistant commander.

The defendant was informed in absentia about the suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 111 (State treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The traitor faces up to fifteen years in prison.
