Law enforcement warns of new phishing scam scheme on Facebook
Scammers invented a new scheme of fraud. Attackers massively tag public pages or send spam messages to users with the text: “Look who died in an accident, I think you know him, so sorry...”.
The purpose of such mailing is to try to get users to follow the link, and then gain access to the owners' pages.
How to protect yourself from a scam trap?
• In no case do not follow links of dubious type. Immediately send a complaint to the post and block the source of distribution.
• Never share your personal and banking details with anyone.
• Use complex passwords that include: uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and characters.
• Download applications and applications only from official sources.
• Install antivirus. Update the operating system.
• Protect your financial number: prohibit the remote reissue of the SIM card or switch to contract service.
If you are a victim of fraudsters and lose access to your page on the social network, you need to contact the police.
