At the Ustylug checkpoint, participants of the marathon “I raise the flag for Ukraine in NATO” handed the Ukrainian flag to Lithuanian athletes.

At the Ukrainian-Polish border, border guards met participants of the ultramarathon, which started in Kyiv on June 25. The athletes overcame the route with the flag of Ukraine, which they received from the Ukrainian military from Bakhmut. In particular, the route ran through Kyiv region, Zhytomyr region, Rivne region and Volyn region.

Yesterday near the Ustylug checkpoint, a team of Ukrainian runners handed the rope to friends from Lithuania. They will deliver the Ukrainian flag to Vilnius, where they plan to raise it to the NATO summit on July 11.
“With this action, we want to draw the attention of the world community to the war in Ukraine and bring it closer to the possibility of becoming the 33rd member of NATO's North Atlantic Alliance. In Lithuania, people will hang Ukrainian flags on houses, balconies, bridges when the NATO summit takes place, so that all delegations can see flags on all roads where they will go,” said race organizer Dominikas Kubilius.
