Service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held events where you could try on special “drunk glasses” - Drunk Busters. The social initiative within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Road Safety Week was supported by various regional branches in order to prevent crime.

Such events took place in Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr region, Rivne region, Zaporizhzhia, Transcarpathia and Chernihiv region with the participation of representatives of the National Police of Ukraine.

“Drunk glasses” mimic the effects of alcohol on human behavior and help to understand and avoid the risks of driving while intoxicated. Thanks to reality simulators, everyone could see from their own experience how alcohol affects the coordination of movements, the reaction speed that becomes visual perception is not as sharp as usual. In this way, employees of the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs joined the training process and convinced drivers to be more responsible and careful when driving.

According to statistics, every year in Ukraine about 4000 people die in accidents, 300 of them — as a result of accidents related to the driving of vehicles by intoxicated drivers. Another 3,000 people are injured.

The main goal of such trainings is to increase the driving culture and to form a new generation of drivers for whom it is unacceptable to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. The social initiative is designed to reduce the number of road accidents due to the fault of drunk drivers. Drunk driving is a criminal!
