Worked for the occupiers in a pseudo-law enforcement agency in the Kherson region: the police exposed four traitors
The National Police continues on an ongoing basis to collect evidence of illegal activities of persons who betrayed Ukraine and went to the side of the enemy, working for the occupying power.
Thus, the operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Chernihiv region of the National Police together with law enforcement colleagues collected evidence in relation to four more collaborators.
In the summer of last year, the defendants took up positions in an illegally created body — the so-called “head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kherson region”.
The occupation authorities gave all collaborators leadership positions in the units of the above-mentioned “law enforcement” body — the local IT, the investigative department and the special unit GROM. The defendants voluntarily performed illegal police functions aimed at protecting the occupying power of the Russian Federation.
The collected evidence became the basis for notifying the attackers about the suspicion. They are incriminated by Part 2 of Art. 111 (Treason) and Part 7 of Art. 111-1 (Collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For deliberately moving to the side of the enemy during the period of armed conflict, espionage, providing assistance to a foreign state, organization or their representatives in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine, punishment in the form of imprisonment for fifteen years or life with confiscation of property is provided.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by the investigators of the SBI department under the procedural guidance of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
