They got rid of competitors: criminals who burned special equipment of a construction company were exposed in Nikolaev (VIDEO)
The criminal activity was documented by the operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations and investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police.
It was established that intruders in Nikolaev destroyed the cold milling equipment “Road cutter”, which the company used during the construction and repair of roads in the region.
According to the results of further investigative and operational measures, the police recreated the circumstances of the crime. Several versions are being worked out, including the elimination of business competitors in the construction market.
According to the investigation, three citizens are involved in the arson of equipment in Nikolaev, two of them have already been identified. These are residents of the Odessa region of 33 and 42 years. Dealers prepared for the crime in advance: rented a car, bought gasoline, scouted the area, checked for possible obstacles, and also calculated the route of departure.
The attackers rented a car in Odessa and went to Nikolaev — the location of special equipment used during the construction of roads.
In this way, they tried to confuse the traces of their illegal activities. On the eve of the crime, they examined the parking area, checked the presence of CCTV cameras and possible witnesses. Having made sure that there were no obstacles, the next night two residents of Odessa region doused the vehicle with gasoline and set it on fire, the third accomplice was waiting for them in the car.
As a result of the fire, the cold milling machine was destroyed, so the owner of the group of companies suffered losses of more than UAH 10 million.
Employees of the DSR, the General Prosecutor's Office together with the USSR in the Odessa and Ivano-Frankivsk regions conducted 14 searches in the territory of the two regions for the places of residence of the defendants and persons who may be involved in the offense.
According to the results of the measures, two members of the criminal group were informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 194 (intentional damage to someone else's property by arson, committed according to a previous conspiracy by a group of persons, which caused property damage on a particularly large scale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Measures are underway to establish the identity of the third defendant.
At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, the court chose a precautionary measure for one of the suspects — detention with the right to deposit UAH 3 million bail.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers carry out measures to identify the full circle of persons involved in the crime and bring them to justice.
The suspect may face up to 10 years in prison for the crime.
