Postage stamp dedicated to the “Guard of Offensive” is solemnly put into circulation
Today, May 9, in the building of the Main Post Office of Ukrposhta, a solemn ceremony of the special redemption of the postage stamp “Guard of the offensive was held. It's time to get yours back.”
The event was held with the participation of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ekaterina Pavlichenko, commander of the joint assault brigade of the National Police “Lut” Alexander Netrebko, commander of the 15th mobile border detachment of the State Border Service “Steel Border” Valery Paditel, commander of the 1st brigades of operational assignment of the National Guard “Bureva” Mykola Mishakin and General Director of “Ukrposhta” Igor Smilyansky.
Symbolically, the repayment procedure took place on the day when Ukraine celebrates Europe Day for the first time. It is also worth recalling that President Volodymyr Zelensky introduced to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a bill establishing May 8 as the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War 1939-1945. It should be noted that last year the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance presented the slogan of these memorable days: “Nazism has won, we will win racism”. And it is in continuation of this thesis that today “Ukrposhta” officially introduced into circulation the postal block “Glory to the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine! The Guard of the Offensive”, which continues the heroic series launched in 2022. This issue is dedicated to the defenders and defenders of Ukraine who defend the sacred Ukrainian land and those who laid down their own lives defending the sovereignty and integrity of our state. The new postal issue depicts fighters of the special assault units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system — the National Guard, the National Police and the State Border Service. The military of these special forces will liberate the territories of our country occupied by the enemy along with the Crimea.
During the event, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko spoke with a welcoming speech: “It is significant that today we are opening and presenting a brand that is a symbol of our invincibility, our future victory. Thank you very much to everyone who came to this special event today. Indeed, I am very pleased to be here, to share this solemn moment. Therefore, taking this opportunity, from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, I want to thank Ukrposhta, I want to thank all those who participated in this significant event, because today we treasure our history.”
Also, Kateryna Pavlichenko added that the “Guard of Offensive” for the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a priority project. “This is a project that is popular today because we have received a really very large number of applications willing to join the Guard. Thank you to everyone who joined the Strike Guard today. These are nine brigades, seven of which are in the National Guard, one is in the National Police, one is in the State Border Service,” she said.
At the same time, the Deputy Minister said that recruitment to the assault brigades of the “Guard of Offensive” is still ongoing and everyone has the opportunity to join like-minded people who defend their country and are preparing to return their own.
In turn, the commanders of the assault brigades noted that such events are motivating for their fighters.
In particular, Valeriy Paditel, commander of “Steel Border” stressed: “Today, history is being made, history on the battlefields, history, in the heart of Ukraine, here in Khreshchatyk, by issuing a stamp that symbolizes the strength of the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people and all brigades preparing for the offensive, to win back their. From myself and my unit “Steel Border” I want to say that we are ready to win our own and the first ones are ready to go to the border with honor. Glory to Ukraine!”
