Officials of Kryvyi Rih City Council Spent 4.5 Million UAH on Procurement
Law enforcement officers of the Dnipropetrovsk region documented the criminal activities of the two defendants. Officials of Kryvyi Rih City Council purchased generators from a limited liability company at a price twice higher than their market value. Thus, almost 4.5 million hryvnias were wasted.
Officials of the executive committee appropriated budget funds during the purchase of 50 gasoline generators. The backup power sources were intended for the needs of the city in the event of a power outage.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches of the places of residence of persons, their place of work and in warehouses where generators were stored. In the course of the investigative actions, accounting documentation, acceptance and transfer acts and other material evidence were discovered and seized.
Currently, both officials of the Kryvyi Rih City Council have been notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 5 of Art. 191 (appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position, committed on a particularly large scale or by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The question of choosing a preventive measure for them is being resolved.
